NTE is a week where uni students from across Australia come together to lift their eyes beyond assignments and deadlines — to meet Jesus, open the Bible, and be equipped for life and mission on campus.
At NTE, students are transformed by God’s gospel, trained to live and speak for Jesus, and sent back to their universities to make him known — for the glory of God.

What is NTE?
NTE (National Training Event) is AFES’ national training conference for university students.
Each year, students from campuses all over the country gather for a week of Bible teaching, practical training, and community.
Together, we open God’s word and learn how to read it well, grow in confidence to speak about Jesus clearly and thoughtfully, and think deeply about life, faith, and mission at uni.

FOCUS
at NTE?
You’ll spend the week opening the Bible, thinking deeply about faith and life, and being equipped to follow Jesus at uni (and beyond).
Bible teaching
You’ll hear clear, faithful Bible teaching that helps you understand Scripture and see the beauty of the gospel for yourself.
Practical training
You’ll get hands‑on training for everyday uni life, in electives, and what we call Strand Groups. From speaking about Jesus with friends, to leading Bible studies, to persevering as a Christian when things are hard.
Community
You’ll be part of a community of other students who love Jesus. There’s space to ask honest questions, be encouraged, and form friendships that often last well beyond the week.
Mission focus
Everything points back to your campus. NTE might just be one week away, but you’ll be equipped to head back to uni ready to live distinctively, speak courageously, and trust God with the results.
Who is
NTE FOR?
NTE is for university students who:
- Follow Jesus (or are seriously exploring Christianity),
- Want to grow in confidence with the Bible,
- Care about seeing others hear the good news of Jesus at uni.
You don’t need to be a leader. You don’t need to feel ready. If you’re willing to learn and be shaped by God’s word, NTE is for you.
Cite For Postgrads
Cite is a conference that runs in parallel to NTE, specifically for postgrad students and uni staff.
Spend the week with people like you who love Jesus and just can’t quite get enough of uni.
